Janine’s musings
Janine Turner-Smith lost 600 pounds after making some significant lifestyle changes. Here, she opens up about what led her to this point, and how she’s feeling now.
I never thought I would be the kind of person who would have to lose 600 pounds. It’s not something that you ever plan for. But that’s where I found myself about four years ago.
I was overweight my entire life, but it wasn’t until I reached my early 30s that my weight really started to become a problem. I was eating unhealthy foods, not exercising, and my weight just kept going up. My health was deteriorating and I knew I had to make a change.
So I started researching gastric bypass surgery and other weight loss options. I decided on gastric bypass surgery because it seemed like the most drastic option and I figured that if I went that route, I would be more likely to stick with my new lifestyle changes.
I’m happy to say that the surgery was a success and I’ve now lost over 600 pounds! I feel better than ever before and my health has improved dramatically.
