Mercedes Cephas was featured on Season 4 of My 600 Lb Life. She started the show at 657 lbs and, with the help of Dr. Nowzaradan, was able to get down to 400 lbs. After leaving the show, she struggled to maintain her weight loss and eventually regained some of the weight.
In 2019, Mercedes appeared on an episode of My 600 Lb Life: Skin Tight. On the show, she revealed that she weighed 546 lbs and was hoping to have skin removal surgery. It is unclear if she has had the surgery or not.
As of 2020, it is believed that Mercedes is still alive and living in Houston, Texas.
